Based on an actual conversation. Do college-age kids really not know who Farrah Fawcett was?
Well, maybe we’re just sheltered. The same person I based this on also didn’t know who Billy Mays was. Perhaps we are just locked in our own little worlds.

Wasn’t me! I once went to a Halloween party where the theme was “dress scary” and someone arrived as Billy Mays. we laughed a lot
Dude, I’m from Belgium, turning twenty and I knew both of them o.O They will be missed.
But I’d be more shocked if I told someone Micheal Jackson died and they replied with “who?”
All I had known about her was that she was famous, I hadn’t a clue what for.
Actually, same for Billy Mays.
I knew what Michael Jackson was famous for…but could only name one song that he’s related to…and that’s only because he showed up as a dancing zombie in the game I’ve been spending my time on.
And ditto that fourth guy that died, famous for something.
Probably I never had a reason to learn who they all were.
I never heard any Michael Jackson songs
I didn’t know of Billy Mays until a couple months ago
I’d never heard of Ed McMahon or Farrah Fawcett until each of them died
Granted, I tend to be particularly skilled at not caring about celebrities, so… yeah.
I’ve never heard of Farrah Fawcett, but I recognize the rest.
I suck with celebrities. :/
Wikipedia’s page about her has her most iconic picture, the one with the big grin and bathing suit:

Pat, she was mostly famous for being good looking, and saying an occasional line in front of a camera. The Cameron Diaz of her day, if you will.
Farrah was better than her rep ever implied, but yes, she was mostly famous for being pretty.
