LOL! and she thought she was going to do something destructive
I would guess that a hairdryer is set too cold to pop popcorn for safety reasons. One of those hot air guns used to blister paint OTOH… I think a popcorn gun would probably end up looking like a rifle. Air gun in the back end, a screen set somewhere in the pipe to keep the unpopped kernels from getting too close to the heat, and the business end would have to bend up far enough to keep the unpopped kernels from blowing out, but not so far as to prevent the popped corn from leaving.
[oh, surfing the net for “popcorn gun”, I found this http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/popcorn_20gun ]
Thinking about this further I think popcorn guns are feasible but the messes they’d leave behind would be bad, and combining the horseplay that such a device would encourage with the hot air jet that it would probably have, would be just begging for someone to get burned…although…if you locked yourself in a room with a second story window where no one could reach you, maybe a popcorn weapon could be operated safely…
If it’s on the internet, then it must be true!
Send in a message to Mythbusters, let them find out.
DO IT. And then post video of it!
This is a very good way to show you are in class. Or at least effective.
Wouldn’t the toast be the best revenge? Nuclear toast that makes the eater invisible would be perfect for that sort of teacher… just leave some buttered toast on a plate on the desk immediately before class, go to one’s seat, then laugh while the fool turns invisible in front of the whole class!
Presumably, you only turn invisible after a steady diet of the toast.
I don’t know about a hair dryer. From experience with actual hot air poppers in the 80’s that took 3-4 minutes to start popping corn, you would probably need to pre-heat the kernals. Much easier to attach your hair drying to a hot air popper, and blow the cooked kernals
