@Anonymous – SRO is supposed to be NRB Fanfare, a freshman week event. They wear t-shirts. Regular Orchestra is a lot more formal. Even still, if I had gone to the one gala I’ve ever been to in my concert blacks, I would have looked like the wait staff.
Then again, the EMPAC gala was adamant about being black tie (that is, until every tux in the Capital Region was rented for that night and they still hadn’t invited the students…)
Graham has one of the best answers here. Also, I feel so sorry for Myra, as showing up with another woman to a gala can really give the wrong impression. Not so much for Penny, she already has a boyfriend.
Myra and Penny are in Orchestra. Can’t they wear their concert black? Or is SRO not that formal?
A gala is a breed of apple. That’s not so bad.
That is why the internet gave us Google.
Yup, google’ing for Gala is fun.
Why are they going to a convenience store chain in Ireland? I don;t get it. 🙂

I have an old Jack Skeleton tie she could borrow. It’s mostly blood red but does have some black on it.
Maybe it’s a swimming Gala! That’s be interesting!
