I’ve been thinking a lot about where Enjuhneer is going and what I can do to focus more on the art and storytelling and less on just getting it done. I’ve been so focused on surviving in the real world that I’ve let Enjuhneer become an obligation instead of the artistic release it was meant to be. I’ll be doing some experimenting for a bit with… pretty much every aspect of it. Today’s is about making the comic less PG and more, well… realistic. These kids are late-teens and young adults and it’s about time I grew up and got comfortable really portraying them.
I’m gonna try to keep going at MWF for the time being, but please forgive me if the update schedule gets a bit wonky while I try to re-find my voice.
Thank you guys for your patience, and I am grateful for every single one of you being here and sticking with this.
No problem, Jenny.
Liking the experimentation thus far.
Good luck with the retool! I’ve loved Enjuhneer ever since I started reading it, and I’m sure it will continue to be fantastic no matter what direction you take it it.
Thanks for keeping this going – always makes me laugh!
You are nearly at the 3 year mark. It’s only natural to get stuck eventually.
Any time a hobby becomes a chore, it’s time to look at what it is about it you find pleasurable and try to head back that way. Whatever direction you take Enjuhneer in, Jenny, I’m sure it’ll be great 🙂
I hope it becomes fun for you again soon. 🙂 I have the same problem with my roleplays, sometimes.
Also, I’m glad I was alone when I read this. That laugh was loud. *.*
Take the time you need to figure out where you want to go – if it’s not fun for you, it’s not fun for anyone!
And I wasn’t alone when I read this, but I still laughed out loud! For some reason, I’m hearing a weird mix of Austin Powers with a German accent… hee hee!
Is it bad that when I read the first panel my immediate response was, “That would make a *great* t-shirt”?
Gigitty?
Naw, Andy. It just means you’re a geek like us. 😉
To be fair, everyone WAS pretty immature freshman year. And… I guess pretty immature senior year, but a more MATURE kind of immature. 😀 So you could go ahead and say that the more PG-13 feel is completely intentional now that they’re all sophomores.
…but then would it get R-rated for their junior year, and X-rated their senior year? o.O
I’ve liked everything so far, and look forward to seeing what enjuhneer becomes!
I could have sown that you had done a boyfriend in bed comic somewhere along the line but I could never find it again.
Ah, so this is the part that’s not her friends as the cast of Firefly…
And a quote from Sexy Einstein…
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. Now get in this bed and let’s get mysterious.
