Club recruitment is why last Friday’s strip was so late. Got some awesome new folks, though, including some of you reader folk! Squee.
Though I’m still kinda wishing I pulled out the dragon costume… I’d have looked like a complete goofball and it would have been wicked fun.
When I was in college, the two clubs I was active in were the fencing club and the local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Now THAT was some fun recruiting. 😉
I see you have changed focus for this one. No more toilet humor?
This is more or less how Izzy got me to LARP, so…
That Lyta sure likes Nerf.
I got involved in the Toy Making Club and I never looked back.
Walk-by shooting with nerf guns?
Our Science Fiction and fantasy club actually has weekly nerf games… there are more people at those than at our normal weekly meetings!
We tried to go nerf with our Vampire LARP groups (mostly because you weren’t allowed to walk around with weapon-like looking softair guns anymore). Didn’t really work out. In the end we went back to the softair guns, but unless it’s indoors, you’ll have to completely conceal them (actually works well with the masquerade theme). If there’s likely to be an outdoor battle with guns (or even one definitely scheduled), we’ll be using an area where that’s possible. Such as a paintball arena.
I’ve seen nerfs pop up more and more with steampunk themed costumes though.
Unicorns! 🙂
Just remembered that it was your birthday.
Happy birthday! 🙂
If the maverick didn’t jam due to the sill ‘move the barrel into place when you pull the trigger’ it’d be one of the best nerf guns of all time.
