I got an iPhone for Christmas. I now have significantly clearer calls and significantly lower productivity.
This is all so new to me. I’ve had a silly dumb flip phone for… as long as I’ve had a cell phone. Now it’s like I hopped in a time machine and joined the 21st century. My first app was a QR code reader (so I can finally do the scavenger hunt at PAX East), then Pandora, then Skype, and then Google Maps. What apps do you use on your phone, if you have the kind of phone that does that?
I also played in a LARP alpha this weekend called “When You Stop Running.” It was a fantastic little mind shatterer, and will be running twice at Dice Bubble 2014. As soon as I’ve got that site up and running, the full schedule will be released. So excited!
2014 will be the year I finally get a smartphone. And I know I’ll go nuts with the apps, too. I’m a late adapter, but when I adapt, I jump in with both feet.
ARE YOU PUTTING ON A EXPLODING APP!! Ò‰ Ò‰??

Hah! I’m still using a dumb phone myself (Tracfone!), but then I use it so infrequently it makes sense. Got a Kindle for Christmas though, so I’ll see what sort of apps I put on it. The screen still seems too small for anything actually useful, but the touchscreen seems quite responsive and accurate.
Interesting how you went straight to Google Maps. Must have heard too many stories about Apple’s version?
I probably will be getting a smartphone this year, since my old Motorola is starting to have problems. Kinda wonder what that will do to my phone bill.
So far, I use a prepaid and 30 quid usually keep me going for about two years. If not more.
I’m not exactly an avid user of cell phones.
I just send letters. They get where they need to go.

DON’T YOU MAKE THEM EXPLODE!! Ò‰ Ò‰??
– Mr. Torgue
Ah yes the lovely smartphones. When my non smart phone dies i was just going to replace it with the same, But the Samsung Galaxy Discover was the same price. The only apps I’ve downloaded are A countdown timer(for cooking), and a Shopping list app. i still was a QR Reader but have not looked at that yet. I use a Cell Phone as a Phone so I won’t be downloading much. Since It’s an Android It came with Google apps and i use it for those when the Laptop is being used by others in the household.
I got an iPhone for Christmas, upgrading for the first time in 7 years from a flip phone. Bit of a learning curve…
