I love PAX. I cannot even tell you how much I love PAX. I do not consider myself a gamer, but the environment at PAX still makes me feel like I’m welcomed home. It’s not just about gaming. (Okay yeah, on the surface it’s about gaming.) But it’s also about the vast and loving community forged between nation- and worldwide nerds by two guys with computers and a dream. PAX is about loving thy fellow geek, and I leave a piece of my heart there every year, to go pick it up again next year. If you ever get the chance to go, seriously do it. I can’t say that enough. Come to the Starship BCEC, hop into a line and hang out with the greatest people in the world. Come home. We miss you.
Tl;dr go to PAX.
I’m not a gamer, either, and I’m not a collector (right now, at least), but I had a lot of fun volunteering at Seattle’s Emerald City Comicon a week ago. So I know how you feel.
You saw Protomen! Awesome! I’ve seen ’em twice… a friend and I hit the Act II release show (AMAZING) and then saw ’em again later that year at Next Big Nashville.
You play games. You hang out with gamers. You write/draw about gamers.
How are you not a gamer again?
Also, sorry I didn’t run into you this time — next time!
PAX, it makes everything better!
